Using Wholesale Bread to Make Cornish Pasties

Frozen Bread DOughPasties are simply pockets of wholesale bread stuffed with meat and vegetables. And with this recipe, they’re oh so easy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package dough
  • ½ pound ground pork, browned
  • ¼ cup onion
  • 2 cups turnips, cooked and mashed
  • 1 cup potatoes, mashed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a baking sheet.
  2. Lightly sauté the onion over medium heat, until it’s just softened. Then stir in the ground pork, turnips, potatoes, salt and pepper.
  3. Cut the dough into 12 different pieces, making sure that each piece is the same size. Pat each piece of dough into a circle measuring six to seven inches.
  4. Lay the pieces of dough flat and place approximately ½ cup of filling in the center of each one. Fold one side of the dough over to completely cover the meat and vegetables, and then pinch to seal. Place on the baking sheet and repeat with remaining meat mixture and pieces of dough.
  5. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, until the dough is golden and crisp.
