Use Pizza Crust to Make Stromboli Sandwiches

Frozen Pizza CrustStrombolis can make a very satisfying and fulfilling supper. But what about customers that are craving them in the middle of the day, and don’t want something that will make them uncomfortable? Just pull some of the pizza crust out of your freezer and make them these very easy sandwiches.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large packages of pizza dough
  • ¼ pound salami, shaved
  • ¼ pound ham, cubed or shaved
  • ¼ pound pepperoni
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 3 tablespoons dried oregano

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9” x 13” casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Onto the bottom of the dish, lay out 1 sheet of the package dough, making sure that it spreads completely to each side.
  3. Spread salami directly over the dough, then the ham, then the pepperoni, and then the mozzarella cheese. Cover with remaining sheet of dough.
  4. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and immediately brush with olive oil. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the entire top, then sprinkle with dried oregano.
  6. Place back in the oven and allow to cook for another 10 minutes, or until cheese on top is completely melted and just starting to brown.
  7. Remove from oven and allow to rest for five minutes before cutting into sandwich squares to allow cheese to set and ensure fillings won’t run out when cut.

You can serve these either hot out of the oven, or at room temperature. Either way, we suggest offering a variety of dipping sauces for your customers to enjoy them even more.
