Turn Frozen Pizza Shells into Red, White, and Blue Pizza for Memorial Day!
Memorial Day is going to be here in just over a month, and you can seize the opportunity to celebrate with your customers! Offer them this delicious red, white, and blue dessert pizza and they’ll be back again for the Fourth of July, and probably every weekend in between, too. With package dough and just a few pieces of fruit, it’s easy to make too!
Ingredients:
- Frozen pizza shells, brought to room temperature
- Cream cheese filling, to be used as a pizza garnish
- ½ cup strawberries, washed and hulled
- ½ cup blueberries
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees, or temperature indicated on the package.
- Once oven is hot, place pizza crust inside and bake until crust is completely cooked, and crisp to the touch.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.
- When crust is cool, spread an even layer of cream cheese filling around, leaving a 1” edge around the edge. Place strawberries, hulled and flat side down, in the cream cheese filling around the outer edge of the pizza. Continue with two more rows of strawberries. Beside the strawberries, place blueberries in a circle keeping consistent with the strawberries. Complete with 2 or 3 rows, and then finish off layers with remaining strawberries.
- Chill or serve immediately.
