Turn Frozen Pizza Dough into Breakfast Pizza!

Here’s an idea for you to serve at your breakfast or brunch buffet, or for that time, feature on any of your menus. It’s breakfast pizza! It’s easy to make and we guarantee you, it’s something your customers won’t be able to stop talking about.

Ingredients

  • 1 ball of prepared pizza dough, defrosted
  • ¾ cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon red chili pepper flakes
  • ½ cup Monterey Jack cheese
  • ½ cup hot Italian sausage, cooked and sliced
  • 4 whole eggs
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475 degrees (or pizza oven to 900 degrees.)
  2. Stretch and roll out dough on lightly floured surface until it forms a circle of about 17 inches in diameter, and the package dough is about 1/8” thick.
  3. Lightly dust a baking sheet with cornmeal and place the wholesale pizza dough on it. Spread a thin layer of sauce on top and sprinkle with red pepper flakes, and then sausage pieces. Finish with Monterey Jack cheese, and then place in the oven for 10 – 12 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and make four small indentations at even intervals on the pizza. Lightly crack a whole egg into each indentation, being careful not to break the yolks.
  5. Place pizza back in the oven and bake for another 5- 7 minutes, until the whites of the eggs are set, and the yolks are cooked to your (or your customer’s) liking.

Your customers will ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ as they break those creamy yolks over their pizza; and you’ll probably sneak in a few slices of your own, too!
