Toast Sub Rolls to Make Tasty Cuban Sandwiches!

Cuban sandwiches are one of the most popular in the sandwich department, and just about everyone has their own version and take on them. So much so in fact, that often it can confuse people as to exactly what an authentic Cuban sandwich entails. Here’s the recipe for a basic Cuban, so you can jazz it up however you want, changing the meat or veggies, or even the wholesale bread!

Ingredients for one sandwich:

  • Sub rolls
  • 3 slices of ham
  • 3 slices of cold roasted pork
  • 3 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 3 pickle slices

Instructions:

  1. Open one roll and layer on ham, pork, Swiss cheese, and pickle slices. Close sandwich.
  2. Preheat a Panini or Cuban press and place sandwich on element. Close and squeeze to bring entire sandwich together and to melt the cheese.
