The Big Easy Pizza
“The Big Easy,” also known as New Orleans, is a place of spice, vibrancy, and a whole lot of flavor! Sounds like the perfect match for pizza, doesn’t it? It does, indeed, and that’s why we’re bringing you just a taste of The Big Easy with this recipe that’s super easy to make when you use wholesale pizza dough!
Ingredients:
- 1 pizza dough ball
- ½ cup chicken, blackened with Cajun spice and a cast iron skillet
- ½ cup hot sausage, such as Andouille or chorizo
- ½ roasted red pepper
- ½ onion, sliced thinly and caramelized
- 1/3 cup Alfredo sauce (or other white sauce)
- 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparations:
- Preheat oven to at least 500 degrees Fahrenheit (900 degrees for pizza oven.)
- In a large pan place: chicken, hot sausage, red pepper, onion, and Alfredo sauce. Turn heat up until the mixture starts bubbling, about five minutes. Remove from heat.
- Lightly grease a deep dish pan and spread package dough along the entire bottom. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over top and place in hot oven for 3 minutes. Remove, and allow it to cool slightly.
- Pour sauce mixture gently over top of cooked cheese and spread around the pizza evenly. Return to the oven and bake for another 5 minutes.
