About the Role:
The Packer’s role is to pack the correct weight or number of pieces per box as per product specifications, make sure the appropriate box, or box and bag, is being used for the current product. They will ensure correct box labeling information is being used and placed in the proper location on the box and legible. They will make sure the block and tier for each product meets the Product Packaging Procedure for that product and take samples of each batch according to Sample Procedures. They will Communicate with Production Management throughout daily production. You Will Be Required to Work Weekends

Responsibilities:

• Practice safety awareness, anticipating unsafe situations and reporting them immediately.
• Unacceptable product must be removed from packing line and placed in proper reject containers for remix or disposal.
• To pack the correct weight or number of pieces per box as per product specifications.
• To make sure the appropriate box, or box and bag, is being used for the current product.
• To ensure correct box labeling information is being used and placed in the proper location on the box and legible.
• To make sure the block and tier for each product meets the Product Packaging Procedure for that product.
• To take samples of each batch according to Sample Procedures.
• Communicate with Production Management throughout daily production.
• Maintain work area and equipment according to proper sanitation standards.
• Make boxes to support the packaging needs.
• May be asked to perform other tasks or handle other responsibilities by supervision that are not covered in this outline.

Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of the English language
• Must be punctual and dependable
• Must have positive attitude and want to be part of a TEAM in a diverse environment
• Must have reliable transportation
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Have strong attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and adhere to food safety and OSHA regulations
• Capable of following and understanding all production processes, procedures, and directions
• Must be flexible to changing duties according to production needs
• Must be able to work weekends and nights as needed
