Need More Ways to Use Wholesale Bread? Beef Pasties Are Just as Good as Pork!

Frozen Bread DoughPasties are sandwich pockets typically made with vegetables and pork, but there’s no reason you can’t make them with beef and make them a bit more interesting. Don’t worry, you can still use pizza dough or wholesale bread to make them.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package dough
  • 1 pound ground beef, browned
  • 1 potato, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • ½ cup celery
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and flour a work surface.
  2. In a medium-sized skillet over medium heat, cook potato, carrot, onion, and celery until all have just softened. When done cooking, allow the mixture to cool until it is about room temperature. Mix with cooked ground beef.
  3. Divide the dough into six equal pieces and stretch each out onto the floured work surface.
  4. Place about ½ cup of the filling down the center of each piece of dough. Fold one half of the dough over to the other side, and pinch to seal the seam. Using a short knife, cut a small slit in the top of each so that steam will be able to escape.
  5. When finished stuffing the pasties, place them on a baking sheet and place in the oven. Allow to bake for 15-20 minutes until the dough is crisp and golden.

Offer these on your menu along with our pork pasties and your customers won’t be able to decide on which one they love the most!
