Make Runzas with Frozen Rolls!

Frozen Pizza DoughWhat do the Greeks call comfort food? Runzas! They’re authentic, they’re delicious, and they’re super comforting. But best of all, when you use frozen rolls to make them, they’re super easy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package frozen bread dough, cut into individual portions if not using rolls
  • 1 cup cabbage, sliced, sautéed with 1 onion, chopped
  • ½ pound ground beef, browned
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a baking sheet.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the cabbage and onion mixture with the browned ground beef.
  3. On a well-floured work surface, roll out wholesale bread until very thin, about ½” thick.
  4. In the center of each piece of dough, place a small amount of the ground beef and cabbage mixture, and then top with just over a pinch of mozzarella cheese.
  5. Bring up each of the sides to completely encase the beef in the dough and pinch to seal so that you’re left with tiny balls.
  6. Place on greased baking sheet, sealed sides down and brush each with a bit of melted butter.
  7. Place in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for at least three minutes before serving.
