Make Bruschetta Using Sub Rolls!

Bruschetta is an Italian appetizer that most customers can’t get enough of. And if you’re selling pizza, calzones, pasta, or any other kind of Italian food, bruschetta is a must – and BLT bruschetta is a great way to mix it up a bit on them! You can use regular Italian pizza dough to make this kind of bread, but using wholesale bread will bring you the much softer product your customers are looking for.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of thick-sliced bacon, cooked, drained, and broken up into pieces
  • 1 package of sub rolls, with each roll split and cut in half
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 large tomatoes, diced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, rolled and thinly sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
  • 1 ½ cups fresh soft mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • White pepper
  • Individual pieces of lettuce, left intact

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Brush each piece of roll lightly with olive oil and place on a baking sheet.
  3. Top each with (in this order): cheese, tomatoes, garlic, basil, white pepper, and bacon.
  4. Place in preheated oven and allow to bake for 7 – 10 minutes, or until the cheese starts to bubble and the bread is just starting to crisp.
  5. Arrange lettuce pieces on a plate and on each one, lay a piece of fresh and hot bruschetta.

Bruschetta is just one of those things that you pretty much have to offer. But nobody says you have to offer it the same way everyone else does. Put this unique twist on it, and see how much your customers love the mix-up!
