About the Role:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for keeping the equipment at DeIorio’s in good operating condition by performing preventive maintenance, machine tests, troubleshoots, removing technical issues, and performing emergency repairs. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be high.You Will Be Required to Work Weekends

Responsibilities:
• Maintain and repair all plant equipment with minimal instruction, continually keeping them in good, working order.
• Accurately order equipment parts and install them where necessary
• Document the preventative maintenance schedule and keep detailed records of all work orders.
• Assist with equipment change overs and line startups
• Effectively support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing downtime.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems (including but not limited to 110V, 220V, 440V) and low voltage control systems.
• Troubleshoot and develop sustainable solutions for issues with plant equipment.
• Plant equipment includes PLC controlled equipment, plant electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and mechanical systems (such as motors and distribution control systems).
• Other work includes but is not limited to – wiring panel boards, running conduit, pulling wire on equipment such as relays, timers, elect eyes, vibrators and controls, electronic controls (moto drives, programmable controllers, process controllers).
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), personal safety, and food safety standards and procedures.
• Ensure all maintenance areas are clean, sanitary, and well organized.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a PLC technician role in distribution, supply chain, or manufacturing position.
• Able to work with yeast and flour products.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Strong PLC equipment knowledge.
• Able to read and work from complicated wiring diagrams.
• Good interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Able to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to work weekends, off shifts, and holidays to support a 24/7-day operation as needed.
• Able to stand, push, pull, squat, bend, kneel, climb, and walk on a continual bases throughout shift and work in awkward and tight areas and spaces.
• Able to lift from floor to above the head.
• Able to carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. frequently and 75 lbs. occasionally throughout work shift.
