How Do You Grill Package Dough?

Package DoughYou want your restaurant, cafeteria, or deli to serve something more than just pizza, but you also want to be able to use what stock you have on hand, without needing to make room for more. So, what can you create with the package dough you already have in your freezer? Pizza! You just have to put a different spin on it; and that’s easy enough to do when you decide to grill it instead of bake it.

All that’s really needed is your grill, and a well-oiled pizza stone. The stone will act like its very own pizza oven, conducting an intense heat and transferring that to the stone, distributing it throughout the entire pizza crust. It’s extremely important that the stone be oiled very well so that the dough doesn’t stick to it when it’s finished cooking. Because the heat is so intense within the stone, anything placed directly onto it will bake directly onto it; oil will prevent this from happening.

Once you have the stone, you can do whatever you want with it once it’s on the grill. You can use whole wheat products, and even freezer to oven dough and it will come out the same each and every time. And while it’s just a very small difference you’re making by grilling instead of baking, it makes a huge difference to the overall pizza.

So now the only question is, what do you use as toppings for your grilled pizza? Any you like, but we suggest you start with barbecue chicken!
