Hogs in Beach Blankets, Made with Pizza Dough

Pizza DoughTake pigs in a blanket up another notch by making them bigger and better! Replace plain old hot dogs with massive sausages, and use regular pizza dough to do it. You’ll be amazed at how fast your customers gobble them up!

Ingredients:

  • 4 Italian sausages, hot or mild
  • 2 cans baked beans
  • 1 package frozen pizza dough, thawed to room temperature
  • 1 ½ cups cheddar cheese, grated

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Generously flour a work surface and roll out package dough until it forms a large rectangle.
  3. Cut the dough in half lengthwise and then cut each piece in half across the width of the dough. Then cut each piece of dough across the width so that you are left with eight pieces.
  4. In the middle of each piece of dough place a couple tablespoons of the baked beans and sprinkle some cheese over top of them. Then place a sausage on top of this mixture.
  5. Roll up the dough so that the baked beans and cheese are sealed inside with the ends of the sausage peeking out of the ends.
  6. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 18 minutes, until the sausages are completely cooked through and dough is puffed up and golden.
