Celebrate National Peanut Day Using Frozen Pizza Dough

Frozen Pizza DoughSeptember 13 is National Peanut Day, and while it may seem challenging to come up with a peanut pizza, we’ve done it for you – and turned it into dessert pizza to boot! All you really need is some good frozen pizza dough, some peanuts, and some peanut candy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package dough
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup smooth peanut butter
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups peanut butter cups, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Remove pizza dough from package and thaw if frozen. Bake according to package instructions.
  2. Remove from oven and immediately spread chocolate chips over the entire crust. Allow the chips and crust to stand for about 5 minutes. The heat from the crust will melt the chips, which you can then spread around the entire crust.
  3. Once chocolate has been melted and spread, place dough in the freezer to allow the chocolate to set, about 5-10 minutes.
  4. While waiting for the chocolate to set, place cream cheese, peanut butter, brown sugar, and vanilla in the bowl of an electric mixer. Mix for about 2 minutes, until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
  5. Remove pizza from oven and spread the peanut butter mixture over top of the chocolate spread. Sprinkle with peanut butter cups.

If making this ahead of time for your customers, we suggest keeping it in a cooler or fridge to ensure that the chocolate remains set. But, we don’t think it will stick around your place of business long enough!
