Celebrate National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day with Frozen Pizza Dough!

National Peanut Butter and JellyApril 2 is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day, and we’re here to help you celebrate! This spin on dessert pizza is a tasty treat for your younger customers, and is great for a lunch menu too. Plus, it’s easy to make when you use frozen pizza dough right out of your freezer.

Ingredients for one peanut butter and jelly pizza:

  • 1 regular or honey wheat pizza crust
  • 2 cups smooth peanut butter
  • 1 cup raspberry or strawberry jelly, preferably in a squeeze bottle

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place pizza dough onto a greased pizza sheet, defrosting if necessary (leave frozen if the package indicates.) Place into preheated oven and bake for 10 – 12 minutes, according to package directions. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly, or to room temperature.
  3. When dough has cooled, spread peanut butter evenly over most of the surface, leaving about an inch along the edges. When done, spread or squeeze jam in a circular pattern, starting with a small circle in the very center, with circles getting progressively larger around it.

That’s it, you’re done! That’s how easy it is to make peanut butter and jelly pizza. And, once you slice into it for your customers, that circular design takes on a unique spider web appearance. Something else your customers will love!
