Celebrate Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day with Rolls Made with Wholesale Bread

Frozen Bread DoughDid you know that April 12 is National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day? And did you know that you can help your customers celebrate this special day with a special menu item that you can leave on all year round? It’s easy to make and full of ooey-gooey cheesy deliciousness!

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices of wholesale bread, with the crusts cut off
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 12 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and lightly grease a baking sheet.
  2. Lay out bread slices and roll with a rolling pin to flatten them slightly. On top of each slice of bread, lay one slice of cheese.
  3. Roll the bread up and over onto itself, jelly-roll style, starting with the longest side.
  4. Place on the baking sheet, seam-side down, and drizzle melted butter evenly over top.
  5. Place in the preheated oven and bake, 5-10 minutes, until cheese has started to melt and bread is golden and toasty.
  6. Serve to customers, alongside ketchup or spaghetti sauce for dipping, or pair with tomato soup!

You can substitute the bread in this recipe with thin pizza crust cut into strips, or honey wheat dough for a special twist on it!
