Celebrate “Eat Your Vegetables Day” with This Creative Vegetarian Homemade Pizza!

Frozen Pizza DoughJune 17 is national “Eat Your Vegetables Day,” and that means good news for pizzerias across the country, as they can put vegetarian homemade pizza as their featured item, and give a big boost to their profits. But on this day everyone’s going to be offering vegetarian pizza, so be sure to make yours stand out by making this creative veggie pizza.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package dough
  • 1 can vegetarian baked beans (make sure you drain it just slightly)
  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 can pineapple chunks, fully drained
  • 1 small red pepper, julienned

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit, or as directed on the commercial pizza dough package.
  2. Place dough on a pizza stone or pizza sheet and spread a thin layer of baked beans on top, leaving about ½ an inch around the sides. Sprinkle with cheese and then top with pineapple chunks and sliced red pepper.
  3. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 11 to 13 minutes, or as instructed on the package. Remove when crust has puffed up and is baked golden crisp. Remove, slice, and serve to your vegetarian customers!
