Backwards Pizza Recipe – No Pizza Dough Required!

Finding new recipes that will keep your smallest customers happy is a tough job, and the kids’ menu is the toughest one for many restaurant owners. But this backwards pizza recipe isn’t just a lot of fun for the kids, it’s also really easy to make for you – and there’s no pizza dough required. So, how do you make a pizza without a pizza crust? By following these simple instructions!

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices bacon, browned crisp, drained, and crumbled
  • ½ cup ground beef
  • Pizza toppings (mushrooms, green peppers, etc.)
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large skillet over medium heat add beef and pizza toppings. Cook until toppings have softened and beef has browned.
  2. When beef is finished cooking, drain, put back in skillet, and add pizza sauce and ketchup.
  3. Sprinkle crumbled bacon along the bottom of a casserole dish. Follow that with meat mixture and grated cheese, reserving some of the cheese.
  4. In a separate bowl combine eggs, milk, flour, oil, and a pinch of salt. Combine thoroughly, and then pour over top of ingredients in casserole dish. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  5. Place in oven and cook for 20-30 minutes until cheese on top is bubbling and golden brown.
  6. Remove, allow to rest for 5 minutes, and then cut just as you would a cake.
