A New Spin on the Frozen Rolls Basket

Frozen Rolls BasketIf you’re currently offering your customers a bread basket before or with their dinner, here’s a new spin on how to do it. And you can still use the frozen rolls that are currently in your freezer. You will need one small cast iron skillet for each table that you’d like to serve. This recipe will fill about three or four of those skillets, depending on how large you make the rolls.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package bread dough, thawed but cold
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup garlic powder

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Melt a few tablespoons of the butter in one cast iron skillet.
  3. Roll out each roll into a long tube, about seven inches long. You’ll need to use four or five rolls per pan. If using package dough for bread loaves, simply cut off four or five pieces and roll these into tubes.
  4. Roll each tube in the melted butter in the cast iron skillet.
  5. Remove tubes from skillet and roll in the Parmesan cheese.
  6. Place the tubes of dough back into the skillet in a circle pattern, starting with the outside and working in.
  7. Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, until the dough is puffed up and golden brown on the outside.
  8. Repeat with remaining skillets, baking them as they are ordered.
  9. Serve in the skillet, on a trivet, for guests to pull apart and enjoy.

Serving these delicacies still in the skillet not only gives your guests a homier feel, it also allows them to enjoy bread warm out of the oven!
