A Different Kind of Dessert Using Pizza Dough to Celebrate a Food Holiday!

Dessert PizzaThe holiday we’re all thinking about in November is of course, Thanksgiving. But truthfully there are many different food holidays throughout the month, and National Peanut Butter Fudge Day on November 20 is one of them. This one works beautifully with pizza dough, even though you might not originally put these two together.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package dough
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons butter, cut into quarters
  • 16 ounces (1 container) chocolate frosting
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter, smooth or chunky
  • ½ cup small Reese’s pieces or other chocolate/peanut butter candy

Instructions:

  1. Heat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place uncooked pizza crust on a baking sheet and place in the oven for about 12 minutes, until it’s completely cooked through. Remove from oven and allow it to cool completely.
  3. Place a glass or other heatproof bowl over a pot of barely simmering water on the stove. Place chocolate chips and butter inside the bowl and stir as it begins to melt. Heat through until the butter and chocolate has fully melted and combined together, and until the mixture is smooth, stirring regularly.
  4. While the crust is cooking, mix together the peanut butter and frosting in a medium-sized bowl.
  5. When the crust has completely cooled, spread the melted chocolate over top of the crust and place in the fridge to allow it to set slightly. When the chocolate is somewhat firm, place the peanut butter and frosting mixture into a pastry bag and pipe it onto the pizza in any design or style you wish.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate and peanut butter pieces on top when finished, and serve.

Be prepared to keep this one on your menu for a while. Customers will love it, and will continue to come back for more!
