A Creative Way to Offer Discounts on New York Bagels
Daylight savings time is a few weeks behind us now, but here’s an idea for the next time it rolls around – offer your customers free New York bagels!
No one likes daylight savings time, especially when it comes in the spring, meaning that we lose an hour of sleep. Not only does this lead to a groggy couple of mornings, but it also means at least one rushed morning when we’ve forgotten to set the clock ahead, are running behind, and need a quick breakfast. People need bagels that they can grab on the way into the office, and you can be there to provide it to them!
Start promoting your free bagels day (or morning) a few weeks in advance and get the word out. Promotions often work better when there’s an urgency attached to them, so be sure to offer the free bagels for a limited time – such as only during the morning rush hour (plus an hour, of course.)
You’ll have lots of customers coming through the door to take advantage of this deal, so be sure you have lots of extras on display that they can purchase while there. Offer take-home pizza crust or frozen pizza crust, so they don’t have to worry about rushing that night, either. Don’t attach this to the bagel offer, just have them available for impulse buys.
It’s great to take advantage of certain times of year, and work them into savings for your customers. And even though this one is meant for busy people that have slept in, you can always offer it in the fall too, when they’re puttering through their morning enjoying their extra hour of sleep!
